Founded by Heather Lux in 2017 and based in northern Maine, True North is the only skincare company in the U.S. to incorporate chaga, an antioxidant-dense wild mushroom that grows on birch trees. True North’s Chaga Infused Formula ™ is formulated with other ingredients to create luxurious oils and emulsified creams.

True North Beauty’s organic chaga is sustainably harvested from birch trees in Maine’s forests. The company harvests after the first freeze, when the tree is dormant and less vulnerable, and a portion of chaga is always left behind so as to encourage regrowth. The company also harvests a portion of chaga from trees that are slated for lumber harvest.
