Please join us in welcoming new Biobased Maine member, the Land Conservation Assistance Network (LandCAN). The LandCAN promotes the protection of wetlands, forests, endangered species, and other wild spaces by empowering landowners to make smart decisions about their properties.

Farmers, foresters, ranchers, and landowners who wish to make more responsible and sustainable decisions about the use and future of their land will find a variety of resources on private land ownership at the LandCAN website.

The LandCAN is active in nine states across the U.S. including Maine, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Virginia. For these states, the LandCAN offers resources including service providers, articles and technical documents, federal and state conservation grant and assistance programs, conservation taxes, wetlands and wildlife, land and energy conservation tools, sustainable land management, tree farm management, and conservation news.
