Congratulations to Biobased Maine member Steve Levesque for being recognized by Mainebiz as a 2018 Business Leader of the Year! Steve is the executive director of Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA), which oversees Brunswick Landing, a technology and business campus at the site of the former Brunswick Naval Station.

When Brunswick Landing was founded in 2011, it was projected to create 800 to 900 jobs by 2018—and it has shot past that goal, with 1,620 jobs created at 108 business entities at last count, according to Mainebiz.

One of the cornerstone businesses at Brunswick Landing is TechPlace, Maine’s premier technology incubator. The 95,000 SF facility offers early stage manufacturers in the industries of aerospace, composites, biotechnology, clean technology, and IT, shared space to operate and grow their business. It’s currently home to over 30 companies, including Mölnlycke, First Light, Wayfair, and Tempus Jets.
